The story of Leonard E. Leake

Leonard was born in the year 1918.
He lived in Stokes County, North Carolina.

His mother was named Virginia Lois Chilton, his father's name was Leonard Jackson Leake.

He had 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

He has only went to secondary school.
After school he worked in a sawmill.

 Before he went in the service he got married, the name of his wife is left out for privacy.



On March 13, 1942 he went into the service, he did so in Ft Bragg, North Carolina.

On Friday, 2 February, 1945 in an attack on the Siegfried Line in Neuhof, Germany is Leonard E. Leake died.
He is still buried in Henry Chapelle Cemetery in Belgium.

After the war, his widow brought his possesions to the local library. Here is a separate area designed for him and he will like the people in Stokes say, honoured as our hero.
